What is a good wall mount

There are several styles of wall mounts to choose form. They are flat, tilting, swiveling and Recessed. Swivel mounts may have wording such as articulating, cantilever, dual arm or scissor. Determine which one is of particular interest to you. You can visit Wall Mount World to find a variety of mounts for any application needed.

Flat Mounts typically a keep your TV close to the wall. Some will have the back of your TV 1.50" from the wall and there are some ultra slim low profile flat wall mounts that will have the back of the TV only .98" from the wall.

Tilt Mounts are adjustable from the flat position and tilts downward up to 15 degrees. These tilt mounts will have the back of your TV 3" from the wall and the ultra slim tilting wall mounts will have the back of your TV 1.5" off the wall.

Swivel Mounts have various amounts of extension depending upon the mount. Their are single arm and dual arm mounts the extend. This style of mount does not have as close of a profile to the wall like flat and tilting. Generally the back of the TV will be around 5 to 6 inches from the wall when fully collapsed. Some mounts extends 9" and there are some such as the Solidmounts UADD-850 that extend out to 32". A warning note: On wall mounts that have extension do not mount them into metal studs. The screws in metal studs can pull out while the mount is extends with the weight of the TV bearing down. Wall Mount World has a vast selection of mounts that articulate and extend.

Recessed Wall Mounts give your TV the flush against the wall look but yet offer you the ability to extend it outward. Wall mount World carries several of these models to choose from. These will require some extra work when installing them into an existing wall covered by sheet rock. Be aware of any electrical wiring when cutting into a wall for this application.
