What is VESA?

VESA is a term you to describe the wall mount bolt pattern into relationship of mounting it to a TVs bolt pattern. We try to tell our customers to think of it like when we are shopping for appliances how most of the stoves and dishwashers are the same height and width. That way whenever you purchase a house you can rest assured which ever appliance you purchase will fit into that opening. With flat panel displays of various sizes there has been a VESA standard established. The typical VESA sizes are :50mm x50mm, 100mmx100xx, 200mmx200mm, 400mmx400mm, 600mmx400mm, 800mmx400mm.

Most TVs will fit into this VESA size. Sure there are some that go larger due to the ever changing size of the flat panels coming onto the market. Seems like we all are wanting bigger. Mount manufacturers are always looking to fit most of the models made. Most of the TVs made have the VESA inside the owners manual or wrote onto the box that the TV is packaged in.

If you cannot find this information out you can always measure the distance between the mounting holes on back of your TV. You can email us here at sales@wallmountworld.com and we will take your measurements and convert it to the correct VESA size for you.
